About

Liqua Lustre was created from a deep desire to design jewellery rooted in passion, purpose, and the quiet power of nature.

My inspiration comes from Mother Nature herself — from the curved lines of Scotland's rock formations, stone-cold stunners carved by time, to the fluid waves and soft ripples of the sea. These natural movements, both powerful and gentle, form the foundation of every piece I design.

Photography plays a vital role in this process. There is something profoundly peaceful about being outdoors with a camera — observing light, texture, and form. Living in Scotland, we are blessed with an abundance of beautiful coastline. During walks along the beaches on the islands of Scotland I became acutely aware of how small we are beside the vastness of the sea. In those quiet moments, surrounded by water, wind, and light, the idea for Liqua Lustre began to take shape. I wanted to capture that feeling of scale, movement, and calm — and wear it.

Liqua Lustre is about translating nature's scale, flow, and beauty into sculptural jewellery for everyday life.

The Journey

I grew up surrounded by a family who loved art and making. My brother was a gifted painter, creating intricate miniature figures and boats. My mother painted, and my father — a fly fisherman — meticulously crafted tiny flies from fabric, thread, and feathers. Watching him work, fascinated by the colours and the precision of each detail, left a lasting impression on me.

Naturally, I began to draw. My sketchbooks filled with clothing and jewellery designs, which later led me into studying fashion and manufacturing in Glasgow. I went on to create clothing of my own — hand painting pieces and selling them at fairs and markets.

Fashion was always my foundation, but jewellery was never far behind. Accessories felt instinctive to me — expressive, tactile, personal. This led me to work with a family-run jewellery company in Glasgow, where I began requesting bespoke designs for myself. Seeing those pieces come to life sparked something undeniable — I fell in love with jewellery design.

I later completed a jewellery course, learning to make pieces by hand. While I loved the process, it became clear that my strongest passion lay in designing. I've always described myself as a magpie — drawn immediately to shine, texture, and bold forms.

Eventually, all of these paths — art, fashion, craft, and curiosity — merged into one vision: Liqua Lustre.

Craftsmanship

Liqua Lustre is a story of travel, wonder, and collaboration. Each piece is designed by myself in Scotland and brought to life in Bali, I work closely with a family-run silversmith, where craftsmanship, skill, and care are at the heart of every piece. Together, we transform organic inspiration into sculptural jewellery defined by flowing lines and considered form.

Each design reflects my belief that beauty exists in the small details — in movement, in texture, in the quiet moments we often overlook. I pour my heart into every piece, creating jewellery that feels expressive yet wearable, bold yet timeless.

Liqua Lustre is a reminder that nature's perfect movements are always around us — in waves, in stone, in light — constantly showing us her beauty, if we take the time to notice.
